Compact Week 2009 - Home Office

Home Office

To celebrate Compact Week the Home Office has invited a range of Third Sector organisations to exhibit and promote the benefits of engagement with the third sector in the Atrium of the Home Office in London from Monday 2 November 2009 to Thursday 5 November 2009.

In a bid to increase the awareness of the significant role the third sector can play in helping the Home Office to deliver its aim to protect the public including helping people feel safe in their homes and neighbourhoods and cutting crime, a ‘Lunch and Learn’ event will take place on Thursday 5 November 2009.

Julian Corner, Head of the Home Office Crime Strategy Unit and former Chief Executive of Revolving Doors, a charity that creates opportunities for people caught up in a cycle of crisis, crime and mental illness, will speak to delegates sharing his view on how to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Representatives from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) will also explain how the Compact works.
